Draper Purveying Company and will take over the Barley’s Taproom and Pizzeria space at 25 W. Washington St. in downtown Greenville. Projected opening will be 4th quarter ’23.
The concept, which will involve a transformation of the space into a lounge-type atmosphere, is an original developed by seasoned entrepreneur Howard Dozier, and it plays off similar ones Dozier has experienced in cities from Nashville to Las Vegas.
Draper will boast two distinct spaces to offer two different experiences. The 4,000-square-foot downstairs space will feature a full-service restaurant and bar, the design of which will focus on bright colors, with dynamically hung chandeliers, Dozier said, and booth and communal table seating.
The characteristic bar area will remain, but will be updated with stainless steel. The former craft beer-focused taps will transition to a 24-tap draft system with 16 beers and eight cocktails and wines on tap.
Dozier’s vision includes a heavy emphasis on weekend brunch, one that is “lively” and fun. The goal, Dozier said, is to give brunch a boost with a lively atmosphere, fun food and live music.
